Life is a cookbook: Recipes
This monthly project will be completed on a two pages of printer paper. Students are to write two recipes for things that are not normally found in a cookbook. Some examples of previous recipes include: A Recipe for A Satisfying Summer Day, A Recipe for A Magical Christmas Eve, A Recipe for a Great Friendship. Students then must create an ingredient list that includes cooking measurements (cups, tbps, tsps, etc) along with a set of detailed instructions that include cooking verbs (heat, stir, slice, etc.). Cooking verbs should be highlighted or written in color.
Students should create a rough draft for each of their recipes and have the drafts checked by a classmate, a friend, or a parent before beginning the final copies.
